99 Hardcover PN6231 Improv Everywhere is a comedic performance art group based in New York City that carries out public pranks such as faking a street concert by the band U2 or overwhelming a Best Buy store with people dressed in Best Buy uniforms.
Last year Improv Everywhere, a 70-person performance troupe whose stated mission is to “cause chaos and joy in public places," assembled over 300 people for “No Pants 2k7," and founder Charlie Todd is looking forward to another big turnout this year--600 Facebook members have already signed up.
Other future stories include that of Improv Everywhere, a New York variation of the former West Coast pranksters the Cacophony Society, who infiltrated a little-known band's gig playing to wildly dedicated fans, only to irritate the band once they got wind of the plot, and of a group of seniors who set out to make a short film they hope to get into the Sundance Film Festival.
