In February 1995 he bought the Interface Group - which runs computer trade shows including the giant Comdex conference - for $800 million, making Softbank the world's largest computer trade show company. It is being sponsored by cable TV's USA Network, the city's cultural affairs department and Interface Group, a Boston-based trade show group.
