Selected inflammatory molecules, including interleukin-1 beta (IL1[beta]), interleukin-6 (IL6), chemokine C-C motif ligand 2/monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (CCL2/MCP1), and chemokine C-X-C motif ligand 1/growth-related oncogene alpha (CXCL1/GRO1) protein levels in plasma, were measured for the 64 study subjects by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA; Biotrak, Piscataway, NJ, USA) according to the manufacturer's instructions.
