According to the Internet Advertising Bureau 2006 Internet Ad Revenue report, online entertainment ad spending increased from 8 percent of total internet ad revenue in the second quarter of 2005 to 10 percent in the second quarter of 2006--the largest increase of the top 5 consumer categories.
These numbers indicate that this previously unmeasured market may be approaching 25% of the already established market of online advertising as reported by the Internet Advertising Bureau.
In a move to make online ads more creative and interactive, the Internet Advertising Bureau recently approved a standard allowing larger online ads.
