Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono expressed his admiration for the successive developments which have been accomplished in JAIP so far considering it as the main core project of the generous initiative "The Corridor of Peace and Prosperity" of the ex-Prime Minister of Japan Junichiro Koizumi.
The second phase of JAIP will be executed an area of 100 dunums including 50,000 square meters for factories, approximately 8000 square meters for facilities of industrial services and 17,000 square meters for logistic services.
To date, the government of Japan has invested over $35,000,000 worth of assistance in JAIP.
The European Union (EU) and Japan support this program, offering financial assistance to eligible JAIP
tenants to purchase equipment, machinery, tools and building materials for their operations.
Fifteen Japanese businessmen visited JAIP
and had a meeting with Palestinian business leaders and visited the Fair.
Then, Prime Minister Hamdallah made a speech to express his sincere gratitude and high evaluation to Japans support so far, stressing that JAIP will contribute to Palestines sustainable and strong economic development.
Minister Kono and Prime Minister Hamdallah unveiled the cornerstone in honor of inauguration of JAIP phase 2.
Finally, Minister Kono visited Palolea Company, the 1st company which started operation in JAIP.
