THE TWO-HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY of the start of Jane Austen's creative literary life in Chawton Cottage is July 2009, and October 2009 is the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of JASNA and the tenth anniversary of Jane Austen's writing desk being placed in the care of The British Library by Joan Austen-Leigh and her family.
Persuasions and Persuasions On-Line allow all JASNA members to participate in the Annual General Meeting by reading many of the papers presented in plenary and breakout sessions.
He will be much missed and deeply mourned by his loving wife of forty-two years, Nora Foster Stovel; his son, Grant Foster Stovel; his daughter and son-in-law, Laura Elizabeth Stovel and Rod Girard; his brother and sister, Robb Stovel and Margaret Surridge, and their families; and by his JASNA friends.
