Jello Biafra I Blow Minds for a Living (Alternative Tentacles 1991) On Minds, one of Biafra's many spoken word albums, he is largely obsessed with the exact same things he was while fronting Dead Kennedys--fascism, censorship, political corruption, censorship, pot, censorship . Dead Kennedys frontman (and Alternative Tentacles label head) Jello Biafra lends his distinctive voice to "Average Man," a seething rebuke of macho-dude homophobia ("NASCAR, Bad Boys, Bud Light, Hooters With his barbed political diatribe falling somewhere between Jello Biafra of The Dead Kennedys and Lisa Simpson from "The Simpsons," Rose haphazardly attacks tyrannical government practices of ruling with an "iron fist" while "sittin' in a Chinese stew" (which, unless it's a reference to "The Iron Chef," makes no sense to me, either). |
