Current provincial elections in states such as Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand have brought out a volley of charges between BJP leaders and their opponents. Tata Steel, the oldest Integrated Steel Company India, which was, founded in 1907 at Jamshedpur in the Bihar State (Now called Jharkhand State) produces about 3 Million Tons/year of saleable steel. In a related development, substate regional movements led to the creation of three new states in 2000 towards the end of the year by the Parliament -- ChatTisgarh, Jharkhand, and Uttaranchal out of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, respectively. |
