This MECA delivers pay increases of around 12 percent on base pay over its three-year term, establishes a joint action group to tackle important issues such as staffing and work life balance innovations, improves a number of leave conditions and further standardises terms and conditions. The potential health impacts of local contamination have been apparent for many years, but the linkage between contamination and health problems was made more apparent to citizens as a result of social visibility provided by 1) the efforts of the Joint Action Group and 2) increasing news coverage. The Joint Action Group, which includes two members of the school board and two from the City Council, will meet June 17 to discuss the proposal. |
