Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD), designed to create a set of common joint standards and architecture for unmanned vehicles, continues to make progress towards its goal to provide support to the joint warfighter. After a great deal of behind-the-scenes research and debate, the IPC and JEDEC are nearing final approval of their joint standard J-STD-020 revision D, which sets definitions and classifications for moisture and reflow sensitivity of plastic-encapsulated ICs. The omission of rotary-wing CAS controls is an example of the difficulty in developing and supporting a joint standard. |
