Besides Brazilian classics -- sung partially in Portuguese -- and standards (``I'm Glad There Is You''), Kelly pays homage to Joni Mitchell with extraordinarily pure renditions of ``Both Sides Now'' and ``Woodstock. Joni Mitchell is certainly someone I've grown up listening to and, if I met her, I'd flip out a little bit. After all, this modest and relatively small province (at least in terms of population) has delivered to Canada such diversified, bedrock, even monumental people and ideas as Tommy Douglas, Gordie Howe, Joni Mitchell and medicare, to name but a few. |
