The decline of Harris Hip and Knee Society functional scores in total joint arthroplasties, in the absence of implant-related problems, suggests that deterioration in the functional capacity of aging patients is an important Factor in longitudinal studies using these scoring systems, says an article published in the April issue (Vol 86, No 3) of Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery.
Postoperative range of motion, alignment, Knee Society knee scores, and complications were recorded.
The conference, co-sponsored by California Pacific Medical Center and the Bay Area Knee Society is expected to attract general orthopedic surgeons, orthopaedic knee specialists, and allied health care professionals to hear the latest findings on the treatment of knee injuries.
