The LITRG is pressing for a proper debate over its ideas for a tax exemption certificate which could be issued to older people on low incomes to take them out of the tax system entirely.
The LITRG wants the Government to consider introducing a publicly-supported tax help scheme manned by volunteers, similar to schemes operating in the United States and Canada.
