Fisheries-related projects implemented at USFS and NPS sites included large woody debris monitoring in streams, hydrology, and juvenile fish estimates. And while large woody debris may be a boon to fish, it can be a nuisance to farmers, especially if a limb whacks a combine or other piece of equipment that passes by. It will take about three weeks to place the downed trees in sections of stream that lack large woody debris, a crucial component of spawning and rearing habitat. |
