The leader behavior description questionnaire (LBDQ) developed measures two basic dimensions of leadership: initiating structure (task oriented) and consideration (relationship oriented) (Hoy & Miskel).
House (1971) suggested that leadership could be represented by the constructs or styles of initiating structure and consideration as measured by the Ohio State Leader Behavior Description Questionnaire (LBDQ).
The final page of the coaches' packet contained the consideration and initiating structure subscales (10 items each) from Stogdill's (1963) Leader Behavior Description Questionnaire -- Form XII.
