The 12 participating teams this year come from eight countries - Spain, Italy, South Korea, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, England, Mexico, France, Turkey and Portugal include teams like Sevilla, Juventus and Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma, Real Madrid, Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito (LDU Quito), Al-Ittihad, Malaga, Aston Villa, Atlante, Olympique Lyonnais (Lyon), Besiktas, divided into 4 groups.
The Ecuadorian's former club Liga Deportiva Universitaria are said to be unhappy at not having yet received their agreed 20-per-cent cut of the fee and could submit an appeal through FIFA for the unpaid money.
