About a year ago the California Department of Agriculture decided to use a pesticide called Checkmate to fumigate the entire Monterey Bay area to eradicate the light brown apple moth.
We began in response to the State of California, which under federal mandate sprayed pesticides over the Monterey Bay Area in 2007 in an attempt to eradicate the Light Brown Apple Moth (LBAM).
