The new compact circuit-reconfiguration switch can be stacked on the logic block, reducing chip area to a fraction of that of a conventional chip, thereby realizing lower costs. Consequently, instead of a gate-level netlist, a lookup table/configurable logic block (LUT/CLB) netlist is created, and the final output for FPGAs is a configuration file rather than GDSII files. As data enters through an input block, much like a receiving dock, the data is examined by a logic block and routed along the programmable interconnect to another logic block. |
