The terminal would include two storage tanks holding up to 320,000 cubic meters of the liquid, just a few miles from such popular tourist attractions as the Queen Mary and Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific.
The aquarium, which sits atop a hillside at the north end of La Jolla, provides an enjoyable diversion on a trip to this coastal community, but travelers who have been to the Monterey Bay Aquarium or the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific will probably find that this small, simple facility pales in comparison to those impressive exhibitions of marine life.
The first phase of the project, already complete, included grand openings at Rainbow Harbor and the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, a 156,735 square foot world class aquarium that showcases three regions of the Pacific Ocean: the Southern California/Baja region, the Northern Pacific, and Tropical Pacific.
