Continuing our yearlong celebration of the life of Louis Braille, Anna Swenson discusses the necessary balance of skill-oriented and meaning-oriented braille instruction and offers creative examples of activities that can make very early braille and literacy instruction meaningful for young children.
Louis Braille died in 1852 aged just 43, but his system of reading using raised dots is still used by the blind today.
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Braille, BlindVoice UK is holding an event in Stockton Central Library on Saturday June 27 from 10-4pm.
