After arriving in Philadelphia, Joseph and another Lost Boy lived with Louise Shoemaker, a retired dean of the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work, who is associated with Lutheran World Relief.
Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR), the delivery arm for development programming and overseas relief for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC), has partnered with Augsburg Fortress Canada, the church's publishing ministry, to promote two mission projects for children in the developing world.
Seventy-five percent of money raised from the event will go to national and international organizations, such as CARE, the American Joint Jewish Distribution Committee and Lutheran World Relief.
