In 1997, a consortium called Lyonnaise des Eaux de Casablanca (Lydec) was selected to rehabilitate, manage and extend water, wastewater and power services in Casablanca, the biggest city in Morocco, with over four million inhabitants and much of the country's industrial capacity.
