A few years ago my sister Magda got married and I didn't even attend the ceremony.
Ogden, by contrast, is first married to an unnamed, idealized woman at the beginning of the story ("my first, my gentle wife" (489)) and then to the irritable Magda at the end.
But all the action devolves on Young Magda (Claire Masterson) and the two men in her life, somewhere in a European country.
