While overall pooled results and some subgroups at two years favored the PROMUS (XIENCE V) Stent for rates of Major Adverse Cardiac Events (MACE), the MACE results in patients with diabetes favored the TAXUS Stent.
The clinical trial showed that, after eight months, the CoStar was inferior to the Taxus stent in reducing major adverse cardiac events.
The main aim was to identify various clinical risk factors that can predict major adverse cardiac events (MACE) for patients while in the hospital and 30 days after discharge in this cohort.
