The Miami Institute for Human Genomics, which will receive a grant to implement a multimedia campaign aimed at educating and informing the families of Black and Hispanic autism, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease patients in South Florida about genetic research.
In addition, UM's mission to become an internationally renowned biomedical research powerhouse recently received a boost with Governor Crist awarding an $80 million economic development grant, approved by the Legislature, to the Miami Institute for Human Genomics at UM.
