The first and second sections contain some interesting articles, such as those by Mei-hua Lan and Nakami Tatsuo, which offer two somewhat opposing views concerning what led to the Outer Mongolian declaration of independence; Christopher Atwood's paper about the second partition of Mongolia in 1945-46, which resulted in the Mongolian People's Republic and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in China; and Ts. But by November 1924, the Soviet government had completely dominated Outer Mongolia and sponsored the formation of the Mongolian People's Republic From 1925 through the late 1980s, the Mongolian People's Republic was, in fact, more an integral part of the Soviet Union, than of China. |
