The company was founded in 1999 by Rob Mechaley, who co-invented the first wide-area wireless data over cellular network -- Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) -- and led the team that built the nation's first seamless wireless network, NACN (the North American Cellular Network).
It is doubly exciting because it demonstrates the ability of Cellular One to access these particular NP services through Illuminet's interconnection with NACN (North American Cellular Network).
The NACN, the international backbone network operator that provides cellular roaming services for more than 80 carriers, announced earlier this year, in teaming with Vertel, they successfully completed an IS-124 DMH demonstration network.
