Last week, the NAFDAC issued a press release stating those fake anti-malarial generic pharmaceuticals with the label 'Made in India' were actually found to have been produced in China. After a laboratory analysis by the NAFDAC, the drugs have been found to be fake and had it not been intercepted, about 642,000 adults would have been affected," the report said. The toxic chemical, illegally added to food products to increase protein levels for laboratory tests, causes reproductive damage, bladder stones, kidney failure and sometimes death, said NAFDAC in its statement. |
