The concern regarding this product is whether some nerve tissue, which could carry the prions known to cause BSE and nCJD, might have been introduced into products using this material. Animals over five years old -- some of which carry the prions which cause BSE in cattle and alleged nCJD (formerly known as nvCJD) in humans -- have been buried, which may lead to contamination of the water supplies. |
