The awards presentation will take place during the 7th annual NCRG Conference on Gambling and Addiction, which is sponsored by the NCRG and the Institute for Research on Pathological Gambling and Related Disorders, a program at the Division on Addictions at Cambridge Health Alliance, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
The NCRG supports the finest peer-reviewed basic and applied research on gambling disorders; encourages the application of new research findings to improve prevention, diagnostic intervention and treatment strategies; and enhances public awareness of pathological and youth gambling.
The Institute for Research on Pathological Gambling and Related Disorders was created in 2000 when the NCRG awarded a multi-million dollar contract to Harvard Medical School and transferred research grant making responsibilities to the Division on Addictions.
The CD-ROM features a wealth of information and resources from the most recent conference, "Common Causes, Managing Consequences," including conference sessions, additional background material on selected presentations, press clips, the attendance list and highlights of the NCRG Scientific Achievement Awards Ceremony.
The NCRG supports scientific research through the Institute for Research on Pathological Gambling and Related Disorders at Harvard Medical School.
The NCRG was created in 1996 as the only national organization devoted exclusively to public education about and funding of peer-reviewed research on disordered gambling.
