When the two Voyager spacecraft flew past Saturn in the early 1980s, they revealed new moons and ripples in the icy rings, which from afar resemble the grooves of a vinyl phonograph record. Lightyear is divided into 12 sections based on the number of new moons, Twelve is a continuing theme with each section having 12 photographic images and then a corresponding animation that lasts for 12 frames, so that each segment lasts 12 seconds. The bats typically hunted all night during the phases near new moons but flew much less during a full moon. |
