METHODS: The records of patients with a first diagnosis of BCC, SCC or MM occurring between 1993 and 2002 were retrieved from the NICR database.
Professor Herbie Newell, Director of Scientific Research at the NICR at Newcastle University said: "We are delighted by the results of these early stage clinical trials and look forward to seeing how well women with BRCA faults in their genes respond.
Prof Herbie Newell, based at Newcastle NICR, said: "This system will not only be extremely useful for monitoring individuals' treatment, but may also allow us to reduce the time it takes to put drugs through trials.
