NREC vice president marketing & sales, said, "It's one thing to compare a more fuel efficient, ultra-low emissions GenSet locomotive to a similarly sized conventional four axle locomotive; however the implications with this tractive effort pull is that a smaller, significantly more fuel efficient 1400 hp four axle switcher locomotive weighted at 258,000 pounds accomplished the same work as a much larger 1800 hp road service six axle locomotive weighted at 360,000 pounds.
