The Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) National Communications System (NCS), is responsible for ensuring continuity of NS/EP communications when network congestion or damage occurs. The RP system was, as of last September, officially superseded by a new and more comprehensive program called the TSP (Telecommunications Service Priority) System for NS/EP (National Security and Emergency Preparedness) Telecommunications. NCS's priority communications services are used to maintain a state of readiness and to respond to and manage NS/EP events throughout the United States," said Vernon Mosley, NCS Deputy Program Director and Chief Engineer for GETS and WPS. |
