1968 as the National Accelerator Laboratory, renamed 1974 in honor of Enrico Fermi. During his presidency, Marburger served on numerous boards and committees, including chairmanship of the governor's commission on the Shoreham Nuclear Power facility, and chairmanship of the 80 campus "Universities Research Association" which operates Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory near Chicago. PITTSBURGH -- Strategic Energy, a national provider of cost-effective electricity services to commercial and industrial customers, today announced it was selected by the Defense Energy Support Center (DESC) to provide electricity procurement service to the Department of Energy's Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) in Batavia, Illinois, for its approximately $30 million electricity requirement. |
