BUSINESS WIRE)--May 29, 2001 $100 Million Development Effort Has Yielded Over 90 Patents Related to Near-Field Recording, Thermally Aided Magnetic Recording and Other Advanced Recording Methods TeraStor Corporation today announced that it is seeking additional licensing for its Near-Field Recording(TM) (NFR)(TM) high-capacity optical storage technology patent portfolio.
From 1998 through 2000, Louie served as the Vice President of Sales for Terastor, a developer of near-field recording (NFR) disk technology.
Unlike other types of near-field recording, this technology is implemented without flying the optical head very close to the disc media, thereby solving a major technical problem that has delayed commercialization of near-field technology in removable optical data storage systems.
