According to the deputy minister, the electricity network grids of all of the six GCC member countries will be linked by 2010.
The network grid will support rural connections to more than 500 sites in New Mexico and Arizona, along with several Indian Health Service sites in Colorado, California, Nevada, Texas and Utah.
The system, which is the first of its kind to be synchronously interconnected to the critical Midtown network grid of Consolidated Edison Company of New York handles 60% of the 450,000 s/f building's electric usage, and 65% of its cooling and heating needs.
