E[acute accent]As part of Sprint's ongoing global MPLS expansion, Sprint is working with regional and global service providers to augment Sprint's wholly owned capabilities through network-to-network interface (NNI) partnerships. PAETEC's establishment of one of the first MPLS-to-MPLS, network-to-network interface solutions (based on the RFC 2547bis - option C industry standard), reduces network management resources while increasing network scalability in a secure, private environment. Visitors at SUPERCOMM will see the SN 16000 Intelligent Optical Switch and the recently introduced Universal Service Card (USC) supporting a broad range of industry standards, protocols, and applications, including Ethernet-over-SONET/SDH (using Virtual Concatenation and Generic Framing Procedure); and advanced optical control plane technologies such as Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS), and OIF User-to-Network Interface (UNI) and OIF Network-to-Network Interface (NNI). |
