Types of items provided on blanket order cases and/or lines are non-significant military equipment (SME) items and/or services that lend themselves to blanket order cases, and/or lines that include spare and repair parts, publications, support equipment, supplies, maintenance, technical assistance, training, and training aids (further definition is available in SAMM C5.
In 2006, based on the previous work and approval of the F/A-18 Third Party Transfer, the LPIT initiated the process to request the pre-approved P-3 blanket third party assurance for NAVAIR international partners to enable the exchange of common and unclassified non-significant military equipment (SME) parts among countries which had purchased P-3 aircraft.
Other initiatives being pursued include FMS third party transfer and exchange of F/A- 18 A/B/C/D common and approved non-significant military equipment, the conversion of the technical requirements identification matrix (TRIM) to system and logistics integration capability, and the identification of a non-Halon fire extinguishing system.
