If passed, the resolution would express "the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada. Two Ontario lumber industry associations are heading to court to uphold a ruling under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) that Canadian lumber is not subsidized. The logical move would be to negotiate as a regional bloc or as part of a 36-country Free Trade Area of the Americas, face up to the North American Free Trade Agreement bloc and then attack, based on this experience, markets besides the Big Three. |
