PWRDF, the Anglican Church of Canada's disaster relief and development agency, sent its contribution to its global partner, Action by Churches Together, which has been assisting the Sudan Council of Churches and Norwegian Church Aid in providing emergency relief to more than 30,000 victims. On May 5, 2003, Norwegian Church Aid reported to the World Health Organization (WHO) office for southern Sudan a suspected disease outbreak in Imatong, a mountain range located in the southern part of Eastern Equatoria, southern Sudan. The funds will be used by ACT members on the ground in Iran, including the Middle East Council of Churches and Norwegian Church Aid, for the purchase and distribution of tents, clothing, medicine and other relief items for survivors of the earthquake, which struck the ancient city on Dec. |
