The true danger of forgoing ORM can best be portrayed through the following allegory: Imagine you are walking downtown and a retail store has signs posted all over its storefront saying "This store is a rip-off" and "Don't do business here".
The report cited several drivers of ORM growth, including the rising demand from emerging economies, especially in specific vertical segments such as insurance, asset and fund management, and brokerage dealership; and the significant strides being taken by public and private organisations in converging operational risk (OpRisk), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRMC).
