It tells how Jewish children were hunted down by Nazis in WW II (they were often poisoned--not worth wasting bullets on--as Fleischman tells us in an Author's Note at the end), but the dybbuk's repartee with Freddie, on and off stage, is often very funny and affecting. He's especially sensitive when he's asked about the exit of longtime Queens bassist Nick Oliveri, who got the boot (most likely) for his wild - and often publicly illegal - behavior on and off stage. For Sunday's Prime-time Emmy Awards, TV stars will be waiting and resting off stage in a green room elegantly appointed by Pasadena designers Matthew White and Frank Webb. |
