Online public access catalog called WEBCAT provides 24 hours services.
In the early 1980s, some libraries began to feature online public access catalogs (OPACs), allowing users to access the libraries'' catalog via computer.
The University of California came out with a massive online public access catalog called MELVYL in 1981, which was about the time of the first library catalogs began containing entire catalogs made available on computers.
