Tokyo, Japan, Sept 26, 2005 - (JCNN) - Wakodo will launch Aqua Light ORS, its proprietary oral rehydration solution, on October 5. If the parent knows that feeding should continue, that an oral rehydration solution should be given to the child from the beginning of illness, and that enough should be given to replace the fluids lost during the illness itself, and that help should be sought if the diarrhoea persists or if dehydration sets in, then the lives of several million young children a year could now be saved. The Centre, the developer of oral rehydration solution, conducts research on a wide variety of health, nutrition and population issues facing poor countries and is the recipient of the first Gates Award for Global Health in 2001. |
