95 Paperback RB115 This is a specially annotated version of the CPT 2007 codebook, to be used as an outpatient reporting reference by all health care providers (including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and outpatient provider-based facilities owned by hospitals) participating in the Medicare program as part of the requirement to follow the policies under Medicare's Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS).
Specifically, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) uses an outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS) to pay hospitals fixed, predetermined rates for services.
The complaint seeks an injunction prohibiting CMS from implementing certain provisions of the recently announced new rule that contains changes in the hospital outpatient prospective payment system.
