With the passage of The Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008, signed into law last October, insurers who cover mental illness will no longer be able to charge higher co-pays than they do for other conditions, nor impose limits on the number of inpatient or outpatient visits.
