For its part, PGN is having several small LNG/regasification terminals built on the major islands instead of pipelines which are more expensive to construct due to deep waters between some of the markets. To increase its supply and thus help the government limit demand for oil, PGN is having LNG/regasification units built in several parts of the archipelago as these are relatively less costly than having pipelines between the islands.
