On August 17, 1918, Italian immigrants Joseph Tamprullo and Earlerogo Piro declared "it is not wrong to kill a man who speaks ill of one's wife," and they shot and stabbed Piro's cousin, Pasquale, for "traducing" their wives. A Chilean company, Teleductos, installed the network and speakers, and the municipality awarded a content concession to radio entrepreneur Piro Morphino, with the provision that he can sell advertising over the system up to 10% of the schedule, daily from 9 a.
