The flyers reading "Diversity is a Disease" are, of course, problematic on their own terms, but they become even more problematic when they are the only flyers on the wall: the words' power amplify and reverberate as if they were shouted into an empty chamber, or dropped plink, plink, plink into an empty bucket. Plinkty, plink if you please, listen to these words that tease. I wanted to get everyone right in the moment, so people would come in and I would say 'Here is the song, here are the chord changes,' and let them plink through it a little bit. |
